ABBA


This is of the Swedish pop group ABBA, who were big in the 1970's and 80's.

I did some colour studies in pastel before going digital, which helped a lot.

Hey Richard. Great work. I think I like the pastels better than the digital. Not sure why, maybe the values on the pastels.

Richard, you actually succeeded in making your digital painting look more pastel than your pastel. I think the problem is that you have really dark shawdows in your digital version whereas the shadows in your pastel are more light and natural.

Thanks guys.I think I overdid the dark values. Next project I'm writing myself a sign to stick on the computer 'Lay off the Black!'
